The network’s senior political analyst David Gergen, a former adviser to four presidents, got it right when he wrote, “The real judgments on the success of the GOP convention will come from voters, not from those of us in the peanut gallery.”
His view was part of an assessment by eight people CNN ran today on its website. It was there through late tonight. Each of the writers, some journalists, some political operatives for Democrats and Republicans, found positives and negatives in Mitt Romney’s speech. There was one exception, Democratic strategist Donna Brazile.
She wrote nothing favorable about the candidate’s address. This not only is not a fair analysis but in our opinion, reduces her credibility. Brazile rarely offers anything positive about the other side. We don’t think that helps make you a rational observer.
